What kinds of addons would you like for your body or your brain?

I only need one.

I don't want direct transfers of information into my brain. That strikes me as dangerous. If someone else does all your thinking and learning, do YOU even exist?

Likewise with adaptations to my physical body. I don't need metallic armour - I can WEAR metallic armour. I don't need telescopic eyes because I can always use a telescope. I don't need massive strength because I can drive a tractor.

If anything, the opposite of these things are true. I don't even need all the physical capabilities that I DO have, so long as I can use available tools. Who will need to be able to intrinsically see or hear or taste when we can devise tools to do these things better? I need a sensory input receptor and a means of manipulating tools. That is all.

And though I don't want MY mind taken over, I have no problem with taking over other minds. So THAT is the one additional capability I need: download. People are welcome to my thinking... they will become me. And with the ability to download my entire mind, even the few physical capabilities I list above would become irrelevant. There would always be a back-up to restore from. Blank bodies into which to insert my mind.

I would be immortal and legion. Who would need more than that?

I think the addon i would love for my brain is very intense insight! Like being able to see where I came from, and who,what, or where i am going to. I want to be able to destroy the boundaries we set for ourselves that set us apart. I want that level of understanding! Wouldn't the world be a better place if everyone had this extreme level of intelligence!

A high speed data port for the brain. There is an appeal to the upload capabilities represented in Johnny Mnemonic, Total Recall and the Matrix. Years of study relegated to a few seconds.

I don't know about addons, but I do wish I had detachable arms sometimes, when I can't get comfortable, and they are in the way! Only thing is, how would I get them off ,and put them back on?

Compare the modern transhumanism movement, which was founded by Libertarian thinkers, with the Italian Futurist movement.

"War initiates the dreamt-of metallization of the human body" -- A quote by Marinetti, the father of Italian Futurism and author of its manifesto.

The interesting difference lies in that Transhumanism is born out of Libertarian, Nozickian, Randian thought, which emphasis the Self as all-important. Whereas Italian Futurism recognized the Self as infinitely unimportant. Yet their moral conclusions are the same. Metallize the human body, make it better, absolute interface with technology.

The Futurists all died young, in strange, ironic deaths, mostly in World War I and II. It's as if the machines they worshipped consumed them tragically. A great irony.

Futurism interfaced well with fascism, despite a difference of aesthetic (fascist appreciating generally classical aesthetic; futurists appreciating visual mobility). Transhumanism would not appreciate 20th Century fascism that much, I imagine. However, with its Libertarian roots, I could see it embracing absolute Corporatism and plutocracy easily.

Fix eyes with cybereyes. See in the dark, zoom-in vision sort of stuff. Have memory chips and high speed data port added to my brain that could be loaded with whatever was needed at any given time. New heart to replace my diseased current one.

Add-Ons for your brain would be great... just plug yourself in and get an upgrade to any subject you wish to have knowledge of.

Add-Ons for your body... As a women with an "A" cup I would have to say Boobs of course, lol.

I like the idea of a high-speed data port. Especially for language consumption. It would be easier to travel if I were capable of downloading conversational language into my brain.

Also a self-cleanser would be awesome for times when you are out and your hands or feet get dirty

I was going to go with the answer the Cyberpunk up in the first answer gave. To be able to speak any language, have absolute knowledge of any Science, or art.
