Convert each equation to slope intercept form

x - 2y = 8

x - 2y - x = - x + 8

- 2y = - x + 8

- 2y / - 2 = - x / - 2 + (8 / - 2)

y = x / 2 + ( - 4)

y = x/2 - 4

Insert the x value and solve for y

The x and y value are the graph

- - - - - - - - - - -

3x - 2y = 12

3x - 2y - 3x = - 3x + 12

- 2y / - 2 = - 3x / - 2 + (12 / - 2)

y = 3x/2 + (- 6)

y = 3x/2 - 6

insert the x value and solve for y

The x and y value are the graph

- - - - - - - - - - s-

x-2y=8
=> 2y = x-8
=> y = 1/2 x - 8

put at least three different values of x and get the corresponding y values. plot on graph and join them with a straight line infinitely extended on both sides.
do similarly with the second equation. the point of intersection is the point whose co-ordinates satisfy the equations.

nb: three points to be taken such that line joining the two points passing through the third necessarily and sufficiently represents the equation.

solve each for y to be able to graph them

x-2y = 8
-2y = -x + 8
y = x/2 - 4
y intercept: (0, -4)
slope: 1/2 (up 1, right 2)

3x-2y = 12
-2y = -3x + 12
y = 3x/2 - 6
y intercept: (0, -6)
slope: 3/2 (up 3, right 2)

the point that they intersect is the solution for the set: (2, -3)

Graph the two lines. Wherever they intersect is the solution.

You need to put them in slope-intercept form.
y=mx+b
Then graph.
