Yes he would have been called that if he were here today preaching the same message. Ironically, conservatives tend to claim moral authority on all things Christian. Here is the complete passage.

"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you." (Luke 6:27-31. NIV)

"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
-- Mahatma Gandhi

"True pacifism is not unrealistic submission to an evil power...it is rather a courageous confrontation with evil by the power of love, in the faith that it is better to be the recipient of violence than the inflicter of it, since the latter only multiplies the existence of violence and bitterness in the universe, while the former may develop a sense of shame in the opponent, and thereby bring about a transformation and change of heart." -- Martin Luther King Jr.

If these three are "Cut and run liberals", sign me up.

Muhammed said to slay the infidel. Wow! Tough choice. Can you see it? They are talking about us. You pull Jesus out of context and you would allow the Islamic radicals to take over the world. What would make you take a stand?

David M said it the best!

I can't believe the "understanding" of the verse that some of these cons purport to believe. When did Jesus ever "confront"? (Well, except for those "moneychangers" in the Temple----if that gives you any idea of how He felt about those who make money using the name of God!!)

It would take a lot of doing to top David M's answer, and I don't think I am going to try. But, I think he should add the Dalai Lama to his list!

I believe the conservatives omitted that phrase as well as the Beatitudes and anything referencing "loving thy neighbor" from their version of the Bible.

Jesus would be pacifist and we would all be calling him a "hippie with no spine".

You need to research what "turn the other cheek" actually means. It doesn't mean to meekly submit to whatever befalls you and accept whatever consquences may come, it means to stand up to your antagonist and offer him another blow, showing him that you will not submit to his will.

Edit: I guess explaining actual meanings of phrases to the libs doesn't play well around here.

No because he never would have attacked so he wouldn't have had to cut and run.
