Try to get yourself in a very, very relaxed state by intentionally relaxing each and every part of your body and then allow your mind to wander . . . if you have traveled before, then you will soon be able to guide and observe your movements. Make sure you do this when you can't be disturbed.

I first heard/read about traveling on the astral plane a few years ago... I absolutely believe it can be done, and I want to do it myself but at the same time it scares the sh-t out of me.

When I read Carlos Castaneda and Taisha Abelar, I very much believe in astral travel.
Which is to say, that I think a mentor might be necessary as well as significant training.
