I struggle with the idea that our civil rights are being systematically dismantled in this country and that very few people are concerned with upholding the tenets of the Constitution. We are treated like criminals for simply trying to board an airplane to visit our families. Our privacy is invaded by anyone who can hack a computer. Our children grow up going to schools that are patroled by armed "peace officers." I struggle with the fact that cops are allowed to sit idly in a car waiting for some poor person to drive 32 in a 30 so that they can destroy that person's day. This country has become one of emphasizing minutiae while the big issues (such as so many people not having proper health care) are considered insurmountable. I am, obviously, a Civil Libertarian, and I certainly hope that we will gain a strong voice in America before our rights are completely abolished.

I'm deaf in my right ear, which means when I'm in a crowded room or on the phone, people think I'm being a snob and ignoring them when in fact, I can't hear them.
