I seen the preview for the dvd set and all i can say is WOW!
The reviews have been lacklustered but some have praised it as the Robotech for the new generation,with 5.1 dolby and remastered video!

If you are a BIG Robotech fan than I would recommend you purchasing the Re-mastered edition. The picture quality is a lot better and you'll see a few deleted scenes. If you are considering to purchase the re-mastered dvd, I believe ADV films is currently having a sale. But try to purchase the Protoculture Collection Mega Set, which runs for $99.00 and you'll get the entire series.
While you are out there, pick up Robotech the Shadow Chronicles as well.
