And does anyone know where I can get one that is about 15 Meters long in the UK?

Or if there is any way of splitting it? So I can run my computer on two monitors?

I want to hook it up to my TV for gaming (the tv is about 6 Meters away) and I want to use it at my desk for school work.

Thanks for helping.

LB

Hello the TV is a Plasma Screen.

I was thinking of using them one at a time, not both at the same time.

Thanks for the responses!!

Its called a VGA cable. You will need an extension though when connecting to your monitor. Yes there are splitters that you can purchase at your local electronics/computer store (VGA splitters). Please keep this in mind though, when you split a VGA signal you will lose image quality and you will more often then not blur or even transpose the image. Please do not expect the image quality to be excellent over 15 meters as this is a fairly long distance.

To avoid this, get an EMI or shielded extension cable (this will cost you with the length that you want) and a GOOD VGA splitter (not a cheap one). If you don't like the image qualitiy then just bring it all back so keep everything in order to do so.

Also, unless you have an LCD, your TV will not produce nearly the resolution that you desire. If your TV is a tube then I would scrap this idea because the resolution will be lousy at best.

Yo LB....its called a VGA cable and no you can not split it. If you want to game on your tv you will need a new video card with dual monitor support.

The new video card that you choose will need to support VGA and whatever types of inputs you have on your tv (e.g. HDMI, component, S-video, or RCA). It also depends on the type of motherboard you have and the support that it offers (e.g. PCI, PCI Express, AGP). You will get much better performance using PCI E or AGP compared to PCI but the cards are also more expensive. Good Luck Hommie.

It could either be a VGA cable or a DVI cable (or, though unlikely, HDMI). You should be able to find one that long at any electronics store (E.G. Radio Shack or whatever the UK equivalent is), though they might have to special order it for you. You should be able to get a switch box or splitter for it the same place.
