please help me i cant find it in the book maybe im not looking hard enough but i cant find where is says the connection between these to...it's for world history AP, it's one of my question's i have to answer.

Farming can produce excess food for maintaining armies, and trade, this brings new skills, new money (taxes), new technology, and other benefits.

By the way, the arguments that are in the book are built up over several chapters, you will actually have to read it to figure this all out! There isn't just one section, and this is probably what your teacher had in mind...

Basically an agrarian society can support a standing army.

Farming allows you to produce more food than you can eat allowing for specialization such as a professional soldier. Hunting and gathering requires more effort therefore you can't support as many people that way.
