backstroke flipturn is really easy when you warm up before the meet count your strokes from the flags to the wall, and take away 1 or 2 of those, lets say you take 5 strokes to the wall, then after your 4th stroke, turn over to your stomach (but dont kick or move your arm!) and glide to the wall and do a regular flip-turn, but while under the water make sure to do a streamline on your back

for the cramps i would just suggest working your arms out while warming up before the meet, flex, and rub out the soreness
swim meets are so fun, good luck!

alright, dont worry, if your swimming backstroke in a backstroke event, what you do, is you count how many strokes it takes for you to get to the wall from the flags, then subtract one. say you take 6 going to the wall, on the 5th, you flip over and glide to the wall, where you do a regular flip turn like swimming freestyle. On IM's you dont have to if your doing the 100, but if your swimming 200 or 400, do you flipturn i explained above.

PS. i have a meet too, but im only 13

You need to train harder. There's no point in racing if you're not going to prepare properly. You've made your own bed and now you have to lye in it.

All you can do today is give it your best shot. In the future, remember how you feel today and make sure you find a way to get to practice or get in the water. As for cramping from basketball perhaps you need to focus on one sport at a time or learn how to stretch and train properly to avoid cramping. Ask your basketball coach and swim coach for some exercises and strecthes that allow you to do both without cramping.

Make sure your open back turns today are legal and that you do them quickly and get a good decent push and streamline. You'll do your team the most benefit by not trying anything new today and by working hard in practice.

Good luck!

Ask your coach if there's an alternative turn you can do without being disqualified. As for the arm cramps, it depends how much time until your meet. Drink lots of orange juice if it's later today.
