What do you think will happen to the human body if exposed to higher gravity that to that of earth? Like if I were to be exposed to 0.5g(gradually increased as I progress) for a long period of time, and then came back to earth. Will I have gained super human strength? Or will the human body fail to adapt?

What are your thoughts?

Fortunately, that is the primary reason I offer my invaluable services to the Planet "Earth". Because I come from a higher gravity planet and it has enhanced my physical abilities here on Earth...but mind you it required a lot of adaptability, focus and training!

Assuming you mean you were exposed to 1.5g for a long period of time then came back to Earth, you would not have super-human strength, but you would be stronger and everything would seem lighter to you. You would also have better stamina because of the constant effort to move.

Now, if humans created a colony on a planet with 1.5g of gravity and lived there for a few thousand years, the descendants of the original colonists would be shorter and much stronger due to adaption to the higher gravity.

Exercising in higher g would be like exercising in water.
Your muscles would increase and adapt to the increased strain.

Then, when you come back to earth, and you step off the ladder of the spaceship, you would propel yourself 100 feet and land in a crumpled heap on the macadam, and the press would take pictures of your lifeless body.

It would depend on what you did. Your physical strength and stamina would increase just as much as if you did the same physical exertion on earth at 1G. If you didn't change your exercise habits, your body would still become slightly more capable at pumping your blood 'up', but that added ability wouldn't be particularly useful back on earth.

well, in higher gravity all of your blood will regulate in only in your toes. your weight will increase(sorry if i upset you) and you would need loads of energy to survive. but if you survived and came back to earth, then you would work quite fast, it would take less energy to walk and jump and your weight will decrease(happy!). in a small extent you shall gain superhuman extent but survival shall be very painful. adaptation shall be difficult.

It depends how much more gravity, we could implode in on ourselves. We might get a severe headache...

low G environments begin to cause muscle loss quickly in space.

High G environments would strengthen muscles.
