Does anyone actually believe that on a certain day, they're going to meet their soulmate, travel and come into money, all because the "stars" tell some nutty old bird who sits in a dark room with loads of cats and a glass ball? ( just guessed the last bit, but probs not far off)

It's not just you. Even if you believe in the wrong-minded effluvia that is astrology - and you'd be credulous, wishful or just plain absurd to buy that superstitious nonsense - but even if you do believe that our lives are ruled by billions of stars, then to boil those movements down into 12 generic, fatuous statements such as "blue holds the key", "you will meet a human", or "don't make rash, violent decisions you may regret" can only be feeble-minded idiocy.

Horoscopes are 95% common sense, and 5% tittilating fantasy. If you're the kind of person who wants to believe in them, you'll forget the many hundreds that never came true, and latch onto the one time you did, in fact, make a rash, violent decision - like punching a professional astrologer in the neck - and lived to regret it.

You know about this experiment they did, mailing hundreds of people with different signs exactly the same horoscope for a while and then when asked how accurate their forecasts had been most of the people said they found them as if they really had been created just for themselves, so..

But the signs in particular may have some point, the planets may be affecting us but to scientifically prove that is probably not possible.

It's just you... and those others who actually think that astrology is the key to finding their soulmate.

PS, I'm not a nutty old cat lady with a glass ball. I'm more of a dog and tv person anyway.

Some horoscopes can be right. Like, the ones made specifically for you. These are extremely complicated though. Most horoscopes are like fortune cookies.

I don't believe in horoscopes but I like reading them all the same just so I can laugh at how full of **** they are.

What i don't get is why it's only strange old ladies who seem to have the power to tell me my future.

It also means that a 12th of the population will have the same horoscope as you.

Yes, some people take them seriously. I mean, they're sort of believable, though I don't really care for them. They might be worthless, but serve a entertainment or as something meant to take up space in the newspaper.
