Philadelphia needs a deep-pocket investor who would be willing to build the team a soccer-specific stadium, in addition to paying a $30 mil expansion fee. Other markets like San Jose, Seattle, St. Louis and Las Vegas have investors ready to go but Philly never had a serious one.

Phillie needs a rich guy or investor group willing to underwrite the team and be willing to lose money. Then that guy or group would need to jump through hoops to prove that Phillie would support the team. The MLS is planning expansion carefully but I am sure if there was a group willing to back a team they would at least be in the conversation.

The inventory industry crash will probably kill MLS in the previous the gang starts enjoying. Plus many communities have not have been given any followers, in basic terms some like Toronto do. And Beckham went to Italy to play as a substitute. Sorry.

We had one in San Jose but it moved to Houston :-(
Like the man said you need a rich investor to start one.

Philly is a city full of bad sports TEAMS right now, and they must not want to invest in a team from a bad SPORT.
