try using peroxide. i work in a college athletic department and we use peroxide to get blood off uniforms. I would do a spot check somewhere where no one can see first, especially if the carpet is a dark color.

try using peroxide, just pour a small amount on the spot and when the area begins to fizzle scrub with a dab towel. This will take out the dark spots. Than go over with some warm water and soap. GOOD LUCK!

We've had luck with hydrogen-peroxide as well as Oxy Clean.

ice cubes in circular motion on the stain and dry up with a clean rag. you can also use a carpet cleaner but the cold ice will melt and help lift off the stains.
