Sitar.

Popularized by George Harrison and Ravi Shankar in the mid to late 1960's.

George's sitar lessons would transfer over into his slide guitar playing in his solo albums.

it's called a fender Telecaster, but to get it to sound like that, you throw the 6th string (fat e) away, move the other 5 strings up one slot, and tune the a down to a g.
