My previous question was, do you think it's fair naruto is still a genin even if he is on a jonin level. Many people said yes, because becoming a chuunin/jonin, you must have leadership skills, that may be true, but you guys are missing the point. Naruto may having trouble developing leadership skills and may never develop them, that does not mean he should stay a genin till
he's 100 years old. The story is about him becoming hokage, uh how is he going to do that if he is still a genin.

You do know that promotions do come for exceptional service. Naruto could become a chuunin than a jounin for his service to Konoha. He may never get leadership skills so he wont be a leader in a team but he will be part of one.

And besides Shikamaru is becoming the Hokage

So far he's a genin. But right now I don't think he has time for the chuunin and jonin exams he has to fight the akatsuki.

Naruto will eventually be promoted to the rank of chunin cause he basically destroyed a member of Akatsuki, and for his leadership skills they have come a long way in Shippuden. So it seems like there is just a matter of time till naruto becomes a chunin of higher.

This is what happen

Naruto reaches the level of Hokage and above, but he never becomes able to serve it because he's a genin.

And I think this is played out right because he doesn't have the leadership skills to lead a country, but he has the powers to be recognized by the hidden leaf village

So everything turns out okay. :-]
