If you just bought your computer then you have PCI-Express. They are phasing out AGP and PCI cards. They are still available but they stink. If gaming is what your into then get a Nvidia 8 series card. The 8800 ultra is the top (but the most expensive). Go to the web site listed here for you and check it out. It will direct you to the sites where you can buy them. Also if you are going to game (and you probably have Vista) then your going to need at least 2gigs of ram, and a sound card. The X-fi is the best right now.

I also hate idiots. You just can’t buy a card and install it, you need to make sure your PC meets its requirements and it will physically fit in your case.

I'm not sure what’s your budget but I wouldn't get anything under a 8800GT their reasonably priced at

I own what many of the above are recommending (8800GTX OC WC) and very happy with it.

necro, I have owned at least one card from nvidia's 4 series all the way up to their latest and greatest 8800GTX and I have never had any trouble with them what so ever. Now I can’t say the same for ATI's rubbish cards & drivers. And I’m not speaking out my *** as either, I have owned/built plenty of rigs.

The NVidia GeForce 8800 is THE top performer right now. It out preforms ATI on most benchmarks out there including real world game tests.

ATI just put out a new board, that competes with it, but it is much more expensive.

Get the ati1950xt crossfire. Its the top of the line card out on the market today. Stay away from nvidias since they are nothing but trouble. In your spair time type in Nvidia for questions and you will see what im talking about.

darkSPY why would you spend the extra cash on something thats going to hot and crash? I know people with Nvidias and they are nothing but trouble. They have a few decent products but you will need to have 2 jobs to afford them.

i hate idiots, the 1950 is yesterdays top of the line.

if money is no prob, get the 2900HD's from ati, they rock
or go with a 8800 from nvidia.

i have 7 nvidia cards at the moment and they all run fine (and they're overclocked)

well if money is no option an 8800 GTX but if your on a budget go with a 7900 GS for about 150 before rebates.

Screw ATI, splash out your cash and get an Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX.. in fact, get 2 and run them in SLI mode... although you'll need to be very rich or have an understanding bank manager :)
