This was the argument in support of the PATRIOT act. Cheney supports the PATRIOT act. Tell me, why is Cheney doing everything in his power to keep his business as VP private? If he has nothing to hide...?

RLP, we are NOT at war. We are assisting the Iraqi security forces in stabilizing their government. Remember?

Oh, and he cites the 'fact' that he is a member of the legislative branch, and not the executive bracn as his reasoning...NOT national security.

walterdisney, lol, the 'liberals' (or to the rest of us...MOST AMERICANS) ARE doing something about it...we are asking him to give up the information. And he is refusing, ans even redefining his position. What are you trying to blame 'libs' for here? There is ABSOLUTELY nothing here to defend...get a clue. There is a way to answer...but it requires a person to not follow an adminsitration BLINDLY. And all of that witch hunt to force Clinton to talk about his SEX LIFE? Which has NOTHING to do with his post...but let's just let Cheney slide on this? Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!??! I shouldn't be surprised, I mean you call all of us who are conservatives LIBERALS whenever we complain about the liberalism of this admin...liberalism which INCLUDES the PATRIOT act. I mean seriously, what is YOUR definition of liberal? Amazing...I shouldn;t be so hard on you, at least you had the huevos to stand up and show your true colors...the rest of your party is just jumping ship...

It bothers me whenever any public official starts asserting the right to privacy and it is especially troubling to see the office of Vice President claiming they are not part of the Executive Branch. I mean honestly, if he is not part of the Executive then what branch is he a part of? Or is it going to be his assertion that he is a fourth as yet undefined branch? This administration has consistently tried to find ways around basic constitutional rights, they may not be actually violating the law in this area, but they are stretching it without question. So my thought is what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Besides whenever any public official goes to large amounts of trouble to protect information it always leaves me wondering just what it is that they have to hide.

I consider Beatnik: sharing passwords isn't basically "to income up on one yet another", yet could be a useful secure practices and emergency backup, too. (And if one in each and every of you is forgetful, this is reachable too.) yet paternity? It sounds like some thing, someplace has raised super purple flags for you. Has she earlier cheated? Does the two of you have any psych/have faith 'matters'? it form of feels fairly out of the commonplace to easily spring a paternity attempt on your spouse (or stay-in GF) for no reason. In maximum states, you likely can legally request it, yet keep in mind which you will actually pay for it (attempting out, criminal expert's costs, etc.) in case you have fairly had a 'no secrets and techniques, totally trusting" courting until eventually now, it is going to hit her like a wall of bricks to ask her immediately. sounds like we choose extra suggestions to offer extra considerate and comprehensive solutions.

IF he has nothing to hide? It's "HOW MUCH" he has to hide. Remember, this is the same guy that 'instantly changed' his state citizenship in order to be on the ticket in the first place.
He is clever and only after 1/20/2009 will we start to understand what has been changed, ordered, deleted, manipulated that will be affecting our civil rights, our constitutional rights.

He considers himself above the law, and as the USA has a history of coving up after previous admistration scandals, he is probably right, only the people can bring him to justice.

Because he's a trigger happy hypocrite & war criminal with a whole graveyard in his closet.
He shouldn't be exempt from his own precious law, let's see what he's so afraid people will discover.

Why do republicans keep using the same excuse over and over. I get so sick of them saying "Its a matter of national security" Do they have anything else? Besides "I can't recall" and " the terrorists will follow us home" Those fear tactics aren't working.

Excellent Question. Enjoy the star.
Cheney is easily the most corrupt politician to hold the P or VP office in a long long long time...probably in the history of our country. He has A LOT to hide.

The UNpatriot Act is a Trojan Horse.
The simpering proletariats have been fooled into believing it is for their benefit, when in reality the guts of the Act contain the elements which sneak in and dismantle ALL OF OUR FREEDOMS.
I recommend each of you READ the damnable thing.
