The Hawks look like they might take Al Horford with the #3 pick in the draft. If you had to compare Horford to an NBA player or players, past or present, whom would you choose and why?

I agree with the first comment that he reminds me a little bit of Okafor. He's not as good as Okafor defensively but I think he's a little bit more skilled offensively and definitely faster at moving up and down the court. I think that Boozer has a much more polished offensive game than Horford (especially when Boozer came out of Duke) and is physically stronger as well. Time will tell with Horford- if he's able to develop offensively and works on his man-to-man defense, he'll stick around the league for years to come. If not, I see him drifting through the league as a role player, a la Stromile Swift, Jonathan Bender, and Chris Wilcox, other athletic players who could get up and down the floor but had very definite weaknesses in their offensive abilities.

Emeka Okafor and Carlos Boozer
Has all the tools to be a great NBA player … long, athletic with a great physique … broad shoulders and long arms help make him a terrific rebounder and solid low-post defender … one of the strongest players in the Draft …. won’t shy away from banging in the paint … always makes a positive impact on the glass … good passer for a big man … per minute stats in the point, rebounding and shot-blocking categories have scouts drooling … runs the floor especially well …. has a terrific motor … is quick for a big guy … has a high basketball IQ … attacks the basket with authority … also has an ever improving mid-range game … has the skill set needed to play in the NBA right now … fantastic shot blocker and rebounder … needs a little more polish on the offensive end, but has everything a team would want in a power player—length, strength, motor, athleticism and IQ … his game still has room to grow, but looks to be a lock for the Top-10 and a potential Top-5 prospect, thanks to an excellent NCAA tournament.

As of right now without the injuries i would think he is gunna come out to be like kenyon martin where he will raise the defensive intensity and score his points here and there they both have a similar build and have the same attributes also they are saying he has shades of karl malone in him but thats a lot to compare too
