I don't mean going through the courts and legally changing your name. I mean, like a gangsta or someone who's on the lamb, so to speak. If a person was to simply move to a different place where no one knows you, you can obviously use any name you want. But if you really want to establish a whole new life and get a different job, you'd need a drivers liscense, social security card, birth certificate, just for starters. So, seriously, how does a person change their persona????

There are ways in which this is done and some of my former employers are very good at doing it. In fact, even when they do it there is still a record of the previous identity for National Security purposes. The only difference is only three people have access to the information.

AS an aside, Cyanne's answer is no longer valid. When you attempt to access a new identity through a birth certificate in all 50 states, that record is now checked against death records and requires more than just a birth certificate for identification purposes.

This is what happens when you watch too much "Rockford Files" on T.V.

The simple answer you will get is NONE, no you cannot change your identity just for fun or for kicks.

Well actually the people who can really change your identity is the government itself. If you happen to be a State witness for the prosecution of a felon. You are a witness to a crime, and it so happen the perpetrator is a known congressman/mafia boss/high profile personality, the government can introduce you to the Witness Protection Program of the government, where they will eventuall change your present name to which ever you like, you have seen the movie ERASER, the government will totally erase your past so that you can live.

So find a crime that you will eventually be a witness to that, in court.

no longer that he did, in spite of the undeniable fact that that's amazingly undemanding to get carry of fake documents to alter your identity, as lengthy as no person is going returned so some distance into the previous to discover a questionable absence of information on that person, like if on the age of 20, that's the conclusion of the documentation, like the 1st 19 years do no longer exist. If the checklist's are no longer appeared at to heavily, someone can stay and function in many circumstances on fake documents.

You can legally change your name to anything you want, as long as it does not infringe upon another person's rights...such as changing your name to Bugs Bunny, or Elmer Fudd. But you have to do it through the court system, and while a simple name change, say from Tina Rastufarian to Tina Blue only costs around 250 dollars, you do have to convince the court that you are not changing your name to avoid debt or prosecution.

They fake a birth certificate (which is really easy to do), steal a social security #, and then take those documents to the DMV to get a driver's license.
