Why does Laura Bush get positive media coverage when Hillary Clinton got negative during her term as 1st lady?

Laura Bush doesn’t attract negative media the way Hillary Clinton does. Is this a right wing conspiracy against Hillary? If so, why?

It is because Laura Bush has not put forward legislation. One of the first things done by the Clinton Administration was to put Hillary in charge of writing the proposed legislation for Nationalizing our healthcare system. The proposal was an expensive debacle that would have done nothing to fix the cost of care, it just would have passed on all cost to the taxpayers and had many new ways that you might be sent to jail for using the system "improperly".

This opened Hillary for direct criticism as she was taking part in the governing of our nation. Laura has not proposed legislation, hence the difference. Not being directly involved in the governance of the nation tends to put one outside that type of criticism.

Laura Bush just stares at the camera and says bland, totally predicitable things. Hillary spoke out on major issues and got involved in government. Hillary has always been a very active, high-powered professional woman. That always attracts attention and, in this society, a lot of it will be negative. They are two totally different women.

Hillary Clinton was an active participant in her husband's administration and very few first ladies have done that. She was the first since Eleanor Roosevelt to be such and even Eleanor didn't weigh in on matters of policy to the extent Hillary did.

Laura Bush is more of the "smile and wave" type of First Lady that the country is historically accustomed to having and as such is treated with kid gloves.

According to first-hand reports of those who have worked with Hillary she is quite a witch to be around. They (not the press, but those who work with her) all say she has QUITE the temper. If that's all true I think the media have treated her rather kindly by not delving more into her temperament. If they are harsh with her at times it's probably because most of the press are men and let's face it..... men don't like strong women. Laura is more low-key. I'm sure she's embarrassed over her husband's stupidity and opts to stay out of sight.

I remember when the twins were caught using fake I.D. in order to get into some of Texas' most notorious pick-up bars and get drunk off their feet, ms. laura stepped up to the T.V. cameras and said "I wish the media would just leave my family alone."

Of course you haven't heard hardly one word about the twin's mis-behaviors since.

Besides, if ms. laura doesn't like you she just might have a fatal car "accident" with you, out on some Texas country road.

Of course, she'll walk out of it with only smeared eye liner.
