Hello, Have you tried with baking powder? Take a tablespoon of baking powder add a small amount of tepid water to the powder& add this to the stain leave for 10 min´s or so, then with a sponge and cold water work your way inwards of the stain, like this you won´t spread the stain further. When you see the stain has been lifted wash the carpet with a little of your own hair shampoo, remove all the suds again with cold water and lay a towel with a heavy object on top . This will help to dry up any water from the underside of the carpet , leave over night like this .Use natural air to dry if you have a humidifier then this will help a lot. Hope this helps you

Dawn dish soap is great to use for removing grease spots. Put some on a damp cloth, rub into the spot, let set a little bit, then continue to rub the area until the grease is gone. Then using a damp cloth, rinse the soap up from the carpet.

Use white spirit liberally, then wash thoroughly with soapy water, finally rinse with fresh water and dry.
I spilled oil-based dark brown gloss paint on a white/pink silk bed cover. What a mess, I really thought it was ruined. Then I used the above method and there was not the slightest sign of a stain.
Also a friend of mine, who is a sports masseur, is always splashing carpets etc with his pongy oils and he cleans up this way.
