i opened up the casing to see what's happening. everytime i turn on the power, the cpu fan spin for a while and stop turning. and i cannot do anything to it anymore. but the power light is lighted though. later on i check the power supply box and the ram on other pc, they were working. is it motherboard problem? or is there anything to do with the fan? THX!

If your fans are coming on then it is a good possibility that the motherboard is ok. Are you getting a "beeps" when you start up? Do you get anything on the screen?

A couple of things to try.

1. Make sure that your video card is plugged it correctly. Remove the screw that holds the card, remove it, and then reinstall it.
2. Check the power connector at the hard drive. Again, unplug it and then reconnect it.
3. Be sure that the locks that hold the ram are closed.

Just do some looking around.

have this three check: Power Supply Unit, Motherboard, CPU by swapping, or try to take everything off(except for the CPU of course) then turn it on, you must hear beeps sound, (it's the RAM and Video missing) and it's a good motherboard indication then return everything one by one to identify whose causing the problem. power should be turned off everytime before adding hardware. (press the panel power switch for a few seconds to shutdown then unplug the power from the wall socket).

It could be the processor getting too hot since the fan is turning on the motherboard seems fine. Try replacing the fan.

Replacing the fan is easy but besure Cool n' Quiet is disabled in the BIOS first this can cause alot of problems for Desktop PC's.

If it is disabled make sure all connections are good and the fan is free of dust.

If all is well you need to know the size of you fan most HSF fans are 60mm if its a stock unit!
