First, it is a lot better than being dead anywhere else.
If you were born in Asia and have Asian ancestry, living there means that you stay close to your own cultural roots. Is that an advantage? It could be for some, and for other it may turn out to not be the greatest, that is why they would emigrate.
If you compare some part of Asia with other part of the world, well, Asia may have a lower cost of living. But that is not true everywhere, as Japan has a high price index, and that housing cost there is just incredible, especially in the large cities. You can say that Asia has better climate than other part of the world, but that is not a given: there are part of Asia -- the Himalayas, the north of Japan, China, or Korea -- where winter is very cold.
Some part of Asia are very crowded, which may be an advantage for some things, and an inconvenience for other.
In the end, it is wherever someone is the most comfortable that really matters.
