on pokemon battle revolution what is the starter pokemon and what is the purpose?

I want to get the game but do you like catch shadow pokemon or what because all i know is you transfer pokemon what do you do in the real game?

It is not an RPG game, such as previous games Pokemon Coloseum and Pokemon XD. It is more like Pokemon Stadium/2. You have to battle different Colosseums, earn items for your appearance, Pokecoupons to use at the store, etc. You can customize many things about yourself, including using Pokemon from your Diamond and Pearl versions (It copies Pokemon data, so you do not need your DS unless you are battling DS vs DS. Also, MOST Hacked Pokemon appear as Bad Eggs). The main prize after beating all 10 colosseums is a Pikachu, Lv 10, with two great attacks that are almost impossible for any Pikachu to have at once together! They are Surf and Volt Tackle. This Pikachu, I believe, can be put in your game. :]

It's not really a RPG game like Colosseum, XD and most of the Gameboy games. It's more like the Stadium games where you just battle, battle, battle. There are various Coliseums in the game where you'll win points if you beat them and you can buy some useful stuff in the game.

Also while Battle Revolution is capable of using your Diamond or Pearl team, it's not a transfer because it copies the team so you can have the same team in Revolution while still using them in your DS game.
