Maybe I missed the civics lesson regarding characteristics of the vice presidency. To the best of my knowledge, the Vice President is a member of the government's executive branch, and the VP's role of president of the senate, was designed as an executive check upon the senate's powers. With this in mind, the VP would be a full-fledged member of the executive branch. I do not understand how Vice President Cheney can deny membership within the executive branch.

Well, what IS interesting is that he doesn't receive a paycheck as "Vice President", but as "President of the Senate" !! SOoooo I can smile and laugh at his twisted logic.
What screws up his "theory" is when he claimed "Executive Privilege" to prevent Scooter and others in his office from testifying.
Not TOO much different from President Clinton claiming he couldn't be engaged in a lawsuit because he was Commander in Chief and therefore fell under the "Soldiers & Sailors Relief Act". He dropped that claim when he was advised that under UCMJ he would then be open to charges of Adultry and Sodomy.

An executive order that Bush issued in March 2003 — amending an existing order — requires all government agencies that are part of the executive branch to submit to oversight. Although it doesn’t specifically say so, Bush’s order was not meant to apply to the vice president’s office or the president’s office, a White House spokesman said… Note that even though the law was not written the way they want it to be now, they assume they can ammend it by say-so, saying it meant this or that. Geeeeez This proves to me that the Bush and Cheney are so crooked, they could hide in the shadow of a corkscrew.

Cheney says that since he is head of the Senate he is not in the excutive branch but rather in the legistlative branch. Cheney is a true crook who should be removed from office. Bush has surrounded himself with egomaniacal idiots. All of the good peaple left him a long time ago.

The president is the Head of State, not the vice president.
In Article II, Section 1, of the United States Constitution it is stated that, "The executive power shall be vested in a president of the United States of America."
It does not say that the executive power should be vested in the president and the vice president and any other cronies that bush may bring into the ring.

Cheney has rewritten civics. He has now created a kind of revolving door post for the vice presidency. I'm in or I'm out... depending on what I am hiding today.

Today is Wednesday so I dont think he is, but he'll be part of the executive branch on Mondays, Tuesdays, and saturdays
