To wash vegetables before cooking are there any special solutions available?

I use a little bit of baking soda in my sink basin and wash my veggies in that... It takes any pestiside residue off and I then rinse them in cold water...

you can just use water, but when you wash lettuce, i found this cool gadget called a salad spinner that gets rid or the extra water on the lettuce

Yes, go to your sink, turn the tap marked "C" or "cold" - its called water.
