I know I don't stand alone in saying "I'm sick of Paris Hilton" She was a spoiled, rich NOBODY until she made her home porn movie...now she's a spoiled, rich, airhead home porn star. ENOUGH ALREADY! You can't watch a TV program, listen to a radio, or have your Yahoo home page come up without seeing her. I would love to see Yahoo set an example and QUIT covering this NONSENSE!! There are so many other news worthy events going on in the world. Other than "eye candy" I don't think ANYONE likes her or cares what she's doing, wearing, or having her dumb comments repeated by the media. I the only subject that has been covered about Paris that I consider "news worthy", is when she was able to manipulate a Sheriff into letting her out of jail...the story should have been: Sheriff arrested for releasing a prisoner!! In my opinion...it's only a matter of time until she drives drunk again and kills an innocent family; BECAUSE she is above the law...that's the message you are all sending.

In this democracy the press is supposed to serve as the eyes and the ears of the people, to inform them about important issues regarding the country and the government. Yet the "press" deliberately dumbs down the news precisely so the people will not be informed. I do not think the public on its own would have the gargantuan appetite for silly stupid idiotic superfluous "news" like Paris Hilton that the amount of coverage implies they would. The public really ought to be more interested in, and more informed by a real Press about issues such as the Iraq War, the price of oil and gasoline and heating oil next winter, the value of the dollar, the debt to Communist China, the state of health care, observance and the lack of observance of the Bill of Rights, the growth of a Soviet-style prison/police state here, on and on and on, real issues. I think that the "press" has acted so recklessly, so irresponsibly in not reporting on reality that wherever possible, owners should be deprived of their assets. It might not be permissible to sieze newspapers or magazines, but broadcasting licenses should certainly be revoked for the worst offenders: ABC, NBC, MSNBC, Fox should certainly lose all of their broadcasting licenses and perhaps CBS should, as well.

Good query. I used to satisfaction myself on being very expert and within the present approximately each and every difficulty. I've discovered that I've subsidized off particularly a bit of extra and suppose a extra completely satisfied character for the reason that of it. New York Times Week in Review tells me what I must recognize. I take a every day look at headlines, probably skim the thing however uncover that not anything rather alterations while you get right down to it. Also, as a result of the discipline I reside in at the moment I am not able to observe tv and the pricing is outrageous for cable. However, I have a sense if I was once ready to observe it then I'd a minimum of pay attention what the foremost experiences are. Other than that, it is paper and on-line

Get off your high horses, people. There's a HUGE audience in the U.S. that eats that stuff up. It's not because the media are feeding them, it's because they are demanding to be fed.

When Anna Nicole Smith died, our local newspaper's Web site had a one line link to the story, but it quickly outpaced any other story on the site, including the "real news," that the online news editor had no choice but to give it more prominence.

News media are in constant give-and-take about giving their readers/viewers what they SHOULD read/hear versus what they WANT to read/hear.

And the Internet is one of the few media that can give an almost instantaneous reading of what stories people want to learn more about.

Sometimes, you've got to give them what they want, or they will turn away from what they need.

It isn't up to the public as to what gets into the media. "News Worthy" means how many newspapers can they sell. Like a product, news is sold; in newspapers, radio, and TV. So the MEDIA decides what to print (air) by what they think will sell the most. Right now it's P.H.

I'm with you on this! I am so sick of hearing about her and seeing her face all over the news that I could just puke! I thought the media went over the top with Anna Nicole Smith, but this is insane! ENOUGH ALREADY! She is just a spoiled, self centered child.

You read my mind. Good job, it makes me wonder too. What do we get from her? Nothing. Yahoo, I love you but there is nothing good about her. No, I don't wake up every morning wondering about her and what she's doing and up to. She does nothing fascinating. Now if she would donate all of her money and inheritance and shave her head and join a monastery, that would be news but release from jail, I don't care.

I'm with you!! Why is this news?! It's just so typical of the media - keep dumbing their content down to appeal to the typical American, huh? Those of us with half a brain prefer to hear about REAL news.

I don't think she even served her full forty-some days. Wasn't it just last week that she was released after three days because of a rash?! Why is Hollywood time quicker that real life?

Thats a good question bc nothing is fascinating about her at all. They should have kept her in jail longer in my opinion.

thank you, i feel the same way. she breaks the law and everyone makes a big deal, while thousands of other people break the smae law and failed to get noticed. it just cause america loves her celebrities, and they cause bigger news then the murder of people and conflicts in other countries, which should be big news.
