Even though the politicians are experts at polling, they still don't listen to the American people. Congress's rating is at an all-time low and the president's isn't much better.

They're getting ready to grant amnesty to 20 million criminals, even though a majority of Americans don't want this.

Every year, we hear reports of the waste in Washington, but nothing ever changes. No one is fired or criminally charged. The craziness just continues without end...

How do we send a clear message to Washington?

Please don't respond with telling me to vote the current politicians out of office. I don't see any material difference between the Dems/Reps. They're all part of the corrupt political machine. The two-party system has to go....

We need to do something to stop the corrupt politicians in DC (and most states)....

Stop turning illegal immigration into a race issue! I take great pride in the fact that I am truly color blind. In fact, the people that are upset the most about illegal immigration are people that have come here legally, of many different races.

And illegal immigrants are criminals! Check your dictionary for the meaning of illegal!

This amnesty bill they are about to pass has opened the eyes of a lot of people in this country. We are beginning to understand what has been the reality for a long time. It has become obvious to many that the President and the Congress DO NOT CARE what we want, or what we think.

This is not a reality that anyone wants to believe, and in fact some will refuse to believe, but it's the truth. It's a truth that breaks the paradigm that we all grew up embracing; that we live in a free country, with free markets, governed by fellow Americans that want the best for all of us. This is a false reality. What is real is that our government is now run by self serving, corrupt, elitist individuals who are beholden to INTERNATIONAL BANKERS and INTERNATIONAL CORPERATIONS.

Not only do they not care about our votes, they rig and fix the elections with their Diebold systems and legislative cons. Without a fair and legal voting system the voice of the individual is muted. We need to insist on at least a paper ballot in this country to have a shot at a fair vote.

If we are going to get a handle on this thing we have to remember where government gets its power. They have the power to tax us into submission. The taxes that they confiscate from us, some legal and some illegal and unconstitutional, equate to power that they take from us, and to the snatching of our private property that we could be using to better our lives and raising our standards of living.

We have to start coming back from this by remembering what made this country great. We are responsible for reading the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and by being informed and ready to stand our ground. Forget about the two parties in control, they have already forgotten about us. Let's secure the voting system through paper ballots or some form of a verifiable paper trail, and kick all these crooks out of office. Vote for individuals who have proven they respect the Constitution and our civil rights. Take a look at Ron Paul. I left the Republican Party years ago, but I'll be voting for this man as long as he can last.

One more thing, it is vital that we understand the importance of the 2nd Amendment:

Amendment II
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

100 million gun owners will make any tyrant take pause.

Well since the politicians made militias into criminals and closed most militias down, the only choice given by the Constitution to remove corrupt officials was eliminated (the Constitution was written with the belief that having an armed citizen based army that could forcibly remove a corrupt President and members of Congress from office would keep them honest - of course the first thing that Bush did was make sure that all the militias were destroyed throughout the country so there could not be any uprising like that).

So, you are only left with voting. Thats it. Not enough people vote. Go out and raise voter awareness. We need to get at least 90% of all eligible voters to vote, instead of the current 15% that do vote.

Its 12 million, not 20 million.

And Congress is getting the message. The majority of the Amrican people are not racist bigots who label the illegal immigrants as criminals.

The right-wing controlled Congress for 12 years--and did NOTHING about the immigrationn problem--even after 9/11 showed it was a danger to national security.

As a result, we now have 12 million illegals, with no pratical solution but to grant amnesty. If the right-wing doesn't like it, too bad. They had every chance to fix the problem before it reached this point.

And its clear--the American people are sick and tired of our national policies, whether in immigration, domestic policy, or Iraq, being dictated by a tiny group of intolerant bigots.

We have to resort to civil disobedience. This means getting arrested, serving jail time and risking your job. Most Americans won't do this, so when a minority shows up to demonstrate they are always made to look like extremists on the fringe.

Encourage people to switch from D and R to Independent might help, but again, only a minority would do this.

We might seek out Congressmen from both parties who are moderates and represent "safe" districts who will speak out without risking the loss of the next election. But they tend to reside in districts that are either heavily R or heavily D. They're not likely to challenge the system.

The best way that is low-risk is to blog. Unite the internet community to send a message that we are fed up.

It's difficult to get more than a small percentage of Americans to challenge the system and risk alienation. We are divided over so many issues (abortion, immigration, taxes, foreign policy, etc)

We need a Manifesto, that lists our greviences and is supported by prominent people from across the political spectrum.

I'm brainstorming here. I'd like to entertain other serious answers.

Write letters to many members of Congress, send e-mails also, sign petitions on-line and otherwise, many websites have these. Go to Congress.org for much information and addresses and even a Bio on all these people. It has President and Vice President listed, Congress(Senate and Representatives). There is a spot on there when sending an e-mail to a member you can choose whether you want it viewed under "Letters to Leaders". It will be published on that persons page on Congress.org and also many people who go to that page will view it also. There are calls you can make, friends you can talk to, contact your newspaper and do a Letter to the Editor piece. You get enough voters at once pressing on Congress, they will have to listen to you eventually, don't give up if you really believe in what you are doing here.

I personally contacted my senators, and congressmen about my position on the Amnesty bill being proposed. Two of which have told me they are for the bill. I've informed them that they have lost my vote, and that during the next election I will do everything I can to see they don't get reelected. I also surrendered my voter registration card as a Republican, and Changed to Independent. I think if we ALL Democrat and Republicans change our Voter Registration cards to Independent they would hear the message very fast.

Call them and tell them they have lost your vote. Then follow thru with the threat. Also, hold back any contributions ypou may have though of giving.

Americans Need to move from Partisanship...which i see happening more and more,..Lobbying by special Interest Groups should be curtailed..if not stopped all together. America needs to come back to its founding principals Socially and Politically. There definately needs to be a Harder line taken against corruption,..and political pandering...for campaign donations should be a questionable practice...and investigated, The fact of the matter is Elected Officials be they Senators, congressmen,,,whoever...make deals all the time,,and i doubt the deals made can by any stretch of the imagination be called .."Representing "..anyone but themselves.

First there isn't adequate independant votes to alter the prestige quo, and 2nd a vote for an independant is mathimatically a vote for one occasion or yet another regrettably. So i think of in spite of the undeniable fact that sounds stable does not replace the equipment.
