i think there should not be a limit because what's the point of the question if you can't fully describe what needs to be answered?

Yes for a couple of reasons;

There might be some people who would just spam it all up

People will be lazy to read to much

People shouldn't need alot of characters

I do because it prevents people from typing full scale novels to just ask a question.

yes it is, just imagine on polls and surveys main menu, if we all post long questions, prolly we will only get to see our questions on the main menu every 30 seconds after submitting
