My plants are doing great. They are about 5 feet tall. Have many tomatoes, but they are not turning. They are in sunlight at least 8 hours a day, and no bugs are getting them.

Most likely the hot temperature plus the large crop has slowed down the ripening process. Pick some of the largest ones to help the other tomatoes left on the vine to ripen faster.

There are several reasons why tomatoes ripen slowly:
Plants that are actively growing while developing fruit may ripen slowly. Excessive growth occurs at the expense of developing ripe fruit.

Getting Them to Turn Red
The red color of tomatoes won't form when temperatures are above 86oF. So, if you live where the summers get quite hot, leaving tomatoes on the vine may give them a yellowish orange look. It's better to pick some of them in the pink stage and let them ripen indoors where it's cooler .

When the fruit set is heavy, it can work against gardeners. Ripening numerous fruit takes a lot of energy and tends to delay the whole crop turning red.

Remove some of the more mature tomatoes to ripen what’s left on the vine. Put them in a paper bag, in a cool (not cold) place to ripen.

Eventually there will be a cool spell, & that will help the tomatoes to ripen faster. The red tomato pigments, lycopene and carotene, are not produced above 85 degrees F nor lycopene below 50 degrees F.

Ohhhh the glorious sun will ripen your tomatoes. Patience is a virtue!. But if you can't wait for them to ripen on the vine, then you can force ripen your tomatoes by placing them inside a paper bag and close the bag tight at the top. The tomatoes give off their own gases inside the bag, turning them red. Just set the paper bag on your kitchen counter, ignore them. Check in 5 days and you will see them turning red.
Not too mention fried green tomatoes with sliced onions are absolutely delicious! TRY IT SOMETIME!

Give them a little more time and a good drink of water. When they start to turn yellowish/red, they can be picked and brought into the house and placed on a window sill. They will slowly ripen there and it will give your plants the opportunity to grow more tomatoes.

You can pick them and place them in a brown paper bag. They will ripen. Never refrigerate tomatoes, it detracts from their flavor.

It's just not time for them to turn. Be patient. You can go ahead and harvest them if you like and they will continue to ripen indoors. Don't refrigerate them though.
