I hated to find out that when you turn 18, Santa Claus cuts you off of the Christmas presents list even if you're good. I mean, I guess I understand that he can't bring presents to all of the kids and adults too so maybe I can see why he doesn't come to my house anymore. I can't say I'm glad to have found this out though, I cried all the way through February.

That being grown up is not all it is cracked up to be. I really used to think, "When I grow up, I will have it made." Now I know, pay bills, pay bills, pay bills. But I would never live at my parents' house ever again so I am glad I am an adult.

The lifestyle my parents lived before I was born. They were hippies so, you can imagine what they did. I was devestated but, as I got older, I became grateful for their knowledge because, I could talk to them about the battles I faced. Honestly, it was a relief to know they weren't perfect & they never judged me for the mistakes I made...they still don't.

The lack of confidentiality, the bizarre communication dynamic, and the total lack of understanding within my adoptive family, this meant that me and my A-mom never spoke to each other ever again, she died last May and I only found out last year in September.

That you cant make something true just by imagining that nothing is wrong.
Now I know that maybe I have to do something to change things instead of imagining it isnt happening.

The worst thing I had to learn was that there is no Santa Clause. It sounds crazy but I was really disappointed when I was a kid and another kid told me that.
