Number of moles in 12 g of Zinc: 12 / 65.409 = .18346

Number of atoms in 12 g of Zinc: .18346 * (6.02*10^23) = 1.1 * 10^23

You need to be able to do this kind of calculation on your own.

First, look up the atomic weight of zinc. Then convert your mass of zinc into moles by dividing 12 g by the atomic weight.

One mole of anything as 6.02 X !0^23 particles (atoms or molecules). So, multiply the number of moles of zinc by that and you'll have your answer.

Convert from grams to moles and then from moles to atoms.
Avogadros # states that there are 6.02 x 10^23 atoms per each mole of a sunstance.

12g * 1mole/65.38 g * 6.02 x 10^23 atoms / 1 mole =
