1)A right triangle is a triangle with one angle measuring 90°. In a right triangle, the lengths of the sides are related by the Pythagorean Theorem, , where c is the length of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the 90° angle). Find the length of the hypotenuse when the other two sides’ measurements are 6 feet and 8 feet.

If you use the pythagorean theorem, it is very easy. A^2 + B^2 = C^2. That's if you want to show your work. But remember, there are a few right triangles that you can memorize and not have to do the work. Here are a couple:

If the sides of a triangle are multiples of 3 and 4 (ie 6,8), then the hypotenuse is the corresponding multiple of 5.

Also, if the sides lengths are 5 and 12, the same rule applies for 13.

The answer is 10 feet.

The square on the hypotenuse, is equal to the sum of the squares on the other two sides.
e.g. 6squared plus 8squared = 100 (36+64)
therefore the square on the hypotenuse is also 100
The square root of 100 is 10
Hence the length of the hypotenuse is 10 feet.

Remember one important point the sides are opposite to the angle in any geometrical figure.
so if c is the hypotenuse then opposite it would be angle c which would be the right angle.

and Hypotenuse square = sum of sqyuares of the other two sides.

hence hypotenuse = 10 feet.

c² = a² + b²

c² = 6² + 8²

c² = 100

c = 10

Let's see... it's... c=10 feet
that is the length of the hypotenuse.
