It's illegal to possess cannabis, not to smoke it. You can smoke pot in your own home in the UK. The only way you would get arrested is if you were walking 'round in public and had possesion of it, or if they had a search warrant and they found some pot. (To have a search warrant against you for pot, you're probably dealing anyway!)

its only legal in some parts of Amsterdam, namely the coffee shops. most clubs and bars in Amsterdam do not like ppl to smoke pot, but that doesn't normally stop them

Amsterdam and Vancouver, Canada, are two places that have legalized the semi-public (coffeeshop) use of marijuana. There are other places, however, where there is nothing on the lawbooks about using marijuana, though selling it is against the law.

I think you are OK to smoke yourself silly in Greenland and Siberia. Not so sure about Antartica.
Seriously, it seems to be legal in Switzerland and Holland, proably suibject to legal restrictions. I wonder if you can smoke tobacco there in public places?

in many countrys, for example netherlands or jamaica, is it legal. i was on a holyday trip in jamaica and somebody offered me pot while i smoked a normal cigarette. we talked about it and he was shocked, that pot is illegal in germany (where i am from) but tobacco is legal. "do they not know that smoking it pot is much healthier than smoking tobacco?" where his words... ;-)

Licenced premises in Amsterdam (coffee shops etc), I believe the laws are quite relaxed in Switzerland and in my house. I won't tell if you don't!
