I loved the book Blood & Chocolate, but kind of hated the movie.
It says based off the book, but it is nothing or anywhere's near the book.
It was a dissapointment to me.
The ending was changed. Her mother ended up dying. She ended up with the wrong guy in the end. She is supposed to stay with the pack instead of leaving.
Why do Screenwriters have to mess up such a wonderful book??

Needful Things.. I actually liked the book, but the movie was boring.. it just sucked.. Storm of the Century wasn't very good either.. but I didn't like the book any more than the movie..
and.. I have to say it Queen of the Damned!.. They should have made it as a seperate movie .. That is NOT the second book in the series, so you lose all of the back story, they introduce IMPORTANT charaters five minutes before the end of the movie and never bother telling you who they are.. and the acting was pathetic throughout most of the movie.. The only thing worth watching it for is the music..

The Shining and It, I did think the films were good until I read the books and believe me the books are absolutely fantastic and much scarier than the films.

There are so many. My rule of thumb is" Is the movie exactly like the book?" A good example of the right way is "To kill a Mockingbird" A great book a great movie.

Dreamcatcher, based on a Stephen King book. Horrible, horrible disappointment.

A series of unfortunate events. It's for kids but it's the worst one I've ever seen. The books are stupid, too (and I'm not even a grown-up).

Definitely Eragon. Change is often necessary, but they did too much and bad ones. I felt the costume designs looked a bit weird and parts of the last battle boring. Aimed too much at a really young crowd.
