The amp hour ratings tell you the capacity of the battery. You can connect two different ones with no damage to either!!

It really depends on how different the two batteries are. What may end up happening, though, is the lower capacity battery will get to full charge first, and either make the voltage regulator stop charging, leaving the bigger battery not fully charged, or the smaller battery will get over charged and die early.

I think the real question is, why do you want to connect two batteries? Having a hard time cranking the engine? Trying to run a lot of current through multiple stereos while parked with the engine off? Or?

Possibly. They will be charging and discharging at different rates.
It might not cause any problems - depending on the exact numbers, but you should usually match the batteries when putting two of them in parallel.

YES the car was not designed for that. if you want 2 batteries get an SL500. one in the hood and one in the bott
