Well, I am going to be an odd ball and say mp3 player. I got my boyfriend an ipod for christmas. It broke within 2 weeks. We just returned the 4th one last month and instead of an ipod, I got him an mp3 player. So far, so good! Much better than the ipod.

Well I wouldn't exactly know because I never owned an MP3 Player before but my friend does...
And I have a pink ipod nano.
To chose between my friend's MP3 or my ipod, I would say ipod. Because it's recently new and it can store pictures and games, contacts, all that stuff and you navigate by just moving your thumb in a circular movement.
And my friend doesn't have that stuff in her MP3 and you have to navigate by pushing the up or down button multiple times to get where you want.

That said, I have a 20 GB 4th gen. and am upgrading to an 80 GB iPod video. iPod is the Ferrari of MP3 players.

well my ipod crashes all the time and ipods can only get music from 1 computer.but their cuter.idk probdly pick mp3

mp3 player...people think they look cool and for 35.00 and 280 songs, you can buy 2 or 3 and switch depending on what you're in the mood for. They also probably won't get stolen as often. 15 hrs on one AAA battery too. I've dropped them and they don't break.
