Found some bedbugs making their home in a futon in my attic. No where else in the house and no one has been bitten. I'm paranoid about the size of the infestation since we don't know how big it is but I bagged up all clothing, bed coverings and pillows in the room anyway as a precaution. Washed all the blankets and about half of the clothes in hot water and dried on High heat as I saw to do on a website.

Now what do I do? It's not a normal futon, it's a Klik Klax, so the mattress is covered by a fabric that is sewn all the way around the pad and the frame, so spraying inside would require me to cut the fabric off the bottom.

Also we don't know where they came from, since they are no where else in the house I wonder if they were already inside when it was purchased (half a year ago).

Suggestions? I'm afraid to even use it anymore.

Yeah, thoughts of tossing it have crossed my mind. It's served as my bed though for the time we've had it, and I don't want to risk bringing a new mattress into the room if they are in the walls or carpets around it.

The pros use a permethrin spray several times over a period of a couple months - permethrin is safe for indoor use but won't kill the eggs so you need several treatments to get them all.

Most indoor insecticide treatments will do the job but the advantage of using a professional is that they know where to spray, how much to spray and how many treatments it takes. I would strongly recommend professional treatment of the whole house - they could easily have migrated to other parts of the house and you just don't know what signs to look for.

Good Luck!

Well, I'm not a Christian, but I'd be happy to point out the flaws in your question. Let's start with: "I guarantee that Christ, a Hebrew, neither taught nor believed in creation as most current Christians do." No you can't, unless you have somehow found an authenticated letter written by Jesus detailing exactly what he believed. If so, bring it. Or how about: "I can prove, within the first sentence of the Bible, that the "Hebrew God of Creation" is NOT the "Christian God of Creation" All you've "shown" is that Christians and Hebrews have slightly different view on what "God" did. You didn't prove they were different gods. An optimist may look at a glass and say it's half full, while a pessimist might say it's half empty. Different view, but it's the same glass (Well, maybe not, but that's a different arguement). And then again: "Within the first verse of the Bible I discredit the Christian view of the God of Creation" No, you didn't. You showed that Christian text and Hebrew text differ. That does nothing to discredit the Christian view. Seriously, for someone who demands a logical answer, you make a lot of leaps of "logic." It makes you sound like someone who is more interested in bringing down Christianity than actually finding truth. Do us all a favor and think things through a little bit more next time

I would say clear the room and throw it out... ! Put all your clothes and belongings in plastic tubs until you find out if you got them all... No sense having to do all that work again.... I store many of my off-season clothes in rubbermaid extra large garbage cans with sealable lids..... They hold more and are cheaper than the sealable tubs.... Good luck
