Well the Sahara Desert is the huge desert covering nearly north to mid Africa.
There are many countries that share this desert and they are : Mauritania, Mali, Algeria, Niger, Libya and Chad.

The word sahara in Arabic means desert. When we talk about the grand Sahara we are referring to the vast desert covering the north of Africa. Its Eastern border is at the western side of the Nile.

I guess you mean a certain place; and this is not found. The Arabic word 'Sahara' is the same word used for 'desert'. Some movies and stories call it Sahara dessert just as they didn't know how it can be called.

Sahara desert lies south of the northern African countries (south the coastal shores, how south, it depends on each regions' green belt and amount of rainfall).
west of river Nile till you reach the Atlantic.
It is the second largest desert in the world after the Antarctic desert.
2 million people lives there approx. mostly Arabs and Berbers nomads.
Also called "The Great Desert"
