Why does the Right wing want stop people taking holidays in the US ?

Since 2000 the number of foriegn tourists visiting america has dropped 20% partially due to Bush foriegn policy but mainly because of the restrictions placed on foriegners (treating them like criminals and wanting all their personal information I.e. credit card details and other records) who wants to holiday there. Now instead of just wanting a thumb print and a photo of the visitor (even if you are from a visa waiver country) they want all ten fingerprints and an iris scan or other biometrics. In 1996 i had a great holiday in the US skiing and up until recently i wanted to go back and try other ski resorts there, but why should i be treated like a criminal just because i want a holiday.
I have been to India, China, South Africa and many places around Europe without having to reveal as many details as the US wants (even with having to get visa's).
I have decided i will never visit the US again as long as they continue to treat law abiding with such contempt.

Q-Burt, your details are requested by the US govt through the airlines you travel with before they let the plane land. I suppose them restrictions are not put on a member of the US armed corporate killing services. Have fun when the PTSD sets in.

The US does not know how to properly define and focus its efforts in the "war on terror". This is similar to the blanket eavesdropping that the US security agencies have been doing. What do you mean the Right Wing wants to stop people from taking holidays in the US? We have 10,000 visitors PER DAY coming in from Mexico! That doesn't jive with your 20% drop in tourism. If anything, the Bush "foreign" policy has done nothing but ENCOURAGE visitors to our beautiful country - ironically, so hated that NO ONE wants to leave!
So stop whining. If you want to avoid the hassle of traveling here and all the security nonsense that comes with it, simply book a flight to Mexico and stroll across the border with everyone else, thus leaving all that annoying paperwork to the other guy.

You should come and enjoy the 37% gain in your currency since 2001.

That's the average amount the US dollar has dropped against other currencies since Bush took office.

If you're on the pound you'll do even better.

Love your ridiculous lie though....you are not required to finger print, retinal scan or give up credit card information to get in the U.S.

I have been moving around the world for the last 15 years and not once, even after 9/11 have any foreign individual had to do any of that. We all simply move through customs like normal.

Its called security, you bonehead. Lets make this point clear though, Bush wasn't in office in 2000, Clinton was, so if you see a trend starting there maybe it has nothing to do with Bush. Secondly, we had this thing on 9/11, I'm sure you heard of it but because of that we had to tighten security. Given the choice between more security or more terrorist, opps I mean tourist, I'll chose security.
