Hello. I hope and pray that you didn't go into it or let your curiousity get the best of you. You sound like a smart girl.
If you believe in God continue your faith, and know that magic, divination, witchcraft (good or bad) is still BAD! The devil and witches still try to make you think that it is good, but do NOT be deceived by the forces of evil. It will lead you into darkness if you let it. If you cautioned your friend, then you were a true friend, however stay away from her. You do not need a 'friend' who could influence you. Surround yourself with good Christian people of your faith.

There is nothing wrong with witchcraft and there is nothing wrong with trying new things as long as you don't feel like it is going against any of your personal beliefs. If you feel guilty or feel like it is wrong, then it probably is wrong for you. What is right for some may not be right for others. If you decide against it tell your friend that you don't think that the practice is right for you or that you don't have the time to dedicate to the practice. If this is your friend, she will understand. This is a personal choice and one only you can make. Be in peace and Love.

My suggestion is that you look into what wicca is really about. There are tons of myths out there, and very few people go beyond just listening to them.
Wicca, as it's practised today, is strongly earth-based, with a belief in unique energies created by the elements that are each attuned to one of the four directions. They do call on gods and goddesses, however, they treat these "entities" more as archtypal energies than as real beings.
Wiccans have a tendency to be more tolearant of variations in everything. And their rituals have a tendency to be tuned to seasonal changes that have more to do with the ancient growing cycle than the ebb and flow of the modern industrial bustle.
While I'm not a wiccan and chose not to incorporate that type of spirituality into my life for a myriad of reasons, before I made that decision I did check out what it is really about today and found that when they say they "do no harm" they're serious. The one belief they hold very strongly to is that if they wish harm on or send harmful energy to another, it will reflect back onto themselves. Most believe the harm returned to them will be threefold, some believe it will be sevenfold. Let's just say that belief is a great concept of internal checks and balances.

First, majik is neither good not bad. It is the intent with which it is used that is good or evil.
Second, witchcraft has nothing to do with the christian god or the christian devil (I say it this way as they are both christian concepts and witchcraft was around centuries before jesus or the creation of the cristian beliefs).
Third, witchcraft is not something you "worship". It is no different then practicing knitting. Witchcraft is simply the act of learning about and learning to manipulate what little majik is left in the world. Just like knitting is nothing more than learning about and learning to manipulate yarn.
Should you encourage her to learn and expand her knowledge and understanding of the world around her, by all means.

It depends on what your beliefs are or if you're into that sort of thing. My friend told me the exact same thing and I just flat out told her that I was okay with the fact that she did it, but it was against my religion and I had no interest in it at all. She didn't mind that I didn't want to do it. She just told me that I should let her know if I ever changed my mind. If your friend really wants to do it, there is really no way to stop her from trying it. However, if she is really your friend she won't force you to try it too.

this is misunderstood. The Bible says that witches are evil, yet fairly it is merely because of the fact it grow to be a competing faith on the time. as we communicate church homes nonetheless placed pagan religions in with Satanism (this is definitely an offshoot of Christianity, not paganism) and say devil is in the back of all of it. and because human beings do not worry themselves to understand the pagan religions or their various ideals, it is all they hear. So of direction that shapes their comments Heck, they regularly even merchandise to Harry Potter and that has not something to do with Wicca or paganism of any variety, this is all fable magic! inspite of the undeniable fact that, i think of the extra human beings communicate approximately it, the extra it is going to at last be understood.

ALL witchcraft is evil in the sight of God.
"Let no one be found among
you who sacrifices his son or daughter in
the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens,
engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or
spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is
detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices
the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you."
(Deut. 18:10-12)
2 kings 23: 24 Furthermore, Josiah got rid of the mediums and spiritists, the household
gods, the idols and all the other detestable things seen in Judah and Jerusalem. This he
did to fulfill the requirements of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had
discovered in the temple of the LORD. "
Lev 19:31, "'Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them.
I am the LORD your God. 'I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and
spiritists to prostitute himself by following them, and I will cut him off from his people.
Isaiah 8:19, "When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and
mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the
living?
1 chronicles 10:13,"13 So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had committed against
the LORD, because he did not keep the word of the LORD, and also because he consulted a
medium for guidance."
