what will happen before shaking and after shaking.. and why did this happen?


water and oil~
water and ethyl alcohol~
water and powdered moth balls~
water and salt~

The water and oil will separate out because their densities are so different.
Water and ethyl alcohol gives you a more dilute solution of ethyl alcohol because the bonds between the parts are strong enough and their densities are similar.
Moth balls will not dissolve in water.
The salt will disassociate into its positive and negative ions. You will have a solution of each.

water and oil : one is a polar liquid : water, the other is only slightly pola : oil; So they will not mix and as water has a hiher density than oil water is at the bottom and oil above. Even if you shake without surfactant thex can mix for ashort time and after demix
can be mixed in any proportion with or without mixing and give an homogeneous liquid
Moth balls are organic compounds they can not be mixed with water

Salt being a polar compound is miscible in water (amount depend of type of salt) for NaCl 330g/L

the first one will form layers of oil and water ( no matter what shake you do) because the 2 are immiscible to each other.

water and ethyl will combine as a homogeneous solution because they are miscible.

water and salt of course will surely form a homogeneous solution because salt is soluble in water.

in the case of moth balls and water, i forgot what really happen when you add both , but as far as i can remember, moth ball is not soluble in water...
