are there any sort of legitimate grants to be found to get it going??? Where do I begin to look....I will need some money to start it up.....not sure how to or where to look for a grant. Does anyone know or have any ideas?? I have seen some on the interenet, but never know if they are legal/real~~~~

You need to do it the hard way, start saving your money, reduce your cost of living, and after 3-4 or maybe 5 years you'll be in some sort of position that will better allow you to finance this.

Depending on what kind of business, you need anywhere from 5 to 20 thousand dollars, and this money needs to come above and beyond any other savings you may have.

Because the thing is, saving your money and reducing your costs are the two things that never go away in a business, might as well train yourself and get a head start in these two, then as a bonus you have the cash.

Please trust me, you'll stand a way better chance of surviving the first 5-8 years if you finance it yourself.

There are very few grants available. There are some federal grants, but all are for innovation research (www.sbirworld.com). A few cities offer grants to get you to locate downtown ... this is in cities where they want to build up downtown. The other other source would be private foundations ... you can do a google search for them.

In other words, don't hold your breath waiting for a grant.
