I have a feeling of being watched at work and wondered if anyone knew if my boss can see my computer through VNC without my knowledge? Thanks.

Well he may be "spying" on you but its not with VNC.. were he to make a VNC connection you would see it on your deskptop -- it is simply a "remote control" system and you would see it!

Most companies these days have a computer usage policy. Since they own the computers, the servers, the internet connections they have the right to put policies in place about how you use those while you are at work. SO JUST EXPECT to be monitored.. thats just the way it works.
But VNC won't be much help for them to monitor. (There are much better programs for that!)

VNC requires a client to be installed on each computer that it can monitor from a remote location. You can configure the VNC client on your computer to not only aleart you when someone connects to your computer, but you can also put a required password on your client.

Not using VNC without your knowledge. However, he can have software on your PC that monitors your usage (e.g., the websites you visit) without your knowledge. Furthermore, they can monitor your internet usage without even touching your PC, using software in the router or firewall that connects you to the internet. Many employers do that, and it's perfectly legal and even moral for them to do that - after all, it's their PC and their internet connection, and they're paying for your time.

When someone connects to your PC through VNC then the color of Icon at System Tray will change and when you place your mouse over that icon, it will display if someone connects.

Thanks,

the simplest way is to see if the icon of VNC on the right side of your monitor, near the clock turns to dark. or you can see if suddenly your computer drags... or the mouse suddenly move or stop.
