The Green Mile by Stephen King.
The book started out as a serial with chapters published every week to recreate what serial books were in the 30'3 and 40's. Its a story of prison life and the wonder of a giant of a man and how he saves the central figure of the story. Great read.

I looked at your list but the print is to small. My favorite author is James Patterson, Dean Koontz and of course Stephen King. Can't go wrong with one of their books...

Sammy Keyes (detective story), Enyclopedia Brown (series/detective) , Geronimo Stilton, Just Annoying (funny), Wayside School (weird but Funny.), Bailey School Kids (series), The Magnificent Mummy Maker,... they're all my favorites. i have lot's of them in my cabinet...

if you don't get angry by repeated or non-ending books, books with strange endings,... try Cyberzone.....

Outernet is also good. it's a series, though.
