Why do nba commentators tell that a road team down 2 pts. at the closing seconds would be better if it will go for the win rather than go for the tie?

because it would be tougher to play in over-time while you are on the road. but I disagree with them all the time. I would rather go for the best available shot.

look on the return and forth schedule with the NBA communities vs the different league. Its brutal. soccer performs as quickly as each week with sooner or later of return and forth. Baseball performs sequence of video games interior the comparable time on a highway holiday to a distinctive city. Hockey is the comparable way, even whilst they do play distinctive communities they are scheduled close mutually. Like NJ then long island the subsequent couple days. The NBA sucks in case you pass on a 4 game highway holiday in say 7 days, you have a return and forth time of three days. Thats below 24 hours to get familiar with any time ameliorations, get some sleep in case you may no longer sleep on a airplane, pass over movie, handle the media and practive every time you play a distinctive game.

Basically because a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. If you can get the win in regulation time that's a win. There are no guarantees in a tie, which just adds more play time to the game.

Goes on the assumption that the home team will be advantaged by having their fans around for overtime. Given that the teams would be even, it's just that little extra that would pull the home team over the line.

So, go for a 3 to avoid going into overtime.

because they are paid to call dramatic play by play.
it's more dramatic and emotional and thrilling to see a team go for it all, and with time running out put the whole game in the hands of one guy. it makes for better ratings.
