My computer is Slow on startup and after a while it goes into a blue screen and says something about memory dump. This is about 6 min after logging in.

Its a newish computer, and has over 2GB of memory????

I tried system restore once and everything worked until 2 weeks and its back where it was. I cant restore again, the restore point is gone???

Is this a virus or what??

The memory dump is coming from you CPU or central processing unit, I found out the hard way that it's the McAfee virus protection that caused this. But since since it won't restart again, it's time to take it to the repair shop, one of the start up files has been corrupt

If you can start you computer in safe mode with networking. and go to this web site, http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm and do a full service scan. I know everyone hates Microsoft. But I only use Norton and this, and all of my 3 computers run great. I run the live one care once or twice a month and have no probs. Just run it at night as it take a long time.

sounds like an over heating problem. take the left side panel off the computer and look at the fan on the processor to see if it is running or running real slow. if so it needs replaced as the processor is overheating and shutting the system down.

Sounds like a virus thats running perpetually and using up all of your virtual memory. Go to McAffee and have their program scan your machine for virusus.
