yes. Ronald Reagan called it right when he increased defense spending dramatically and forced the Russian communists to give up because their economy couldn't keep up.

To crank up our economy, Reagan reduced tax rates -- this worked so well that tax revenues actually increased. Further, the economy and people's incomes soared.

Let's see ... others:

President Reagan also called it right when he started the SDI missile defense program. We could use an effective missile shield now.

The 1996 "Contract with America" welfare reforms have been a huge success.

The 2002-2003 tax reductions [eliminations for many lower middle class workers] pulled America out of a recession and the economic aftermath of 9/11.

Prudhoe Bay oil drilling is a huge success and adds hundreds of millions a year to the Alaska Permanent Fund.

Communication deregulation has also been a big success -- we have a lot more choices today than were previously available and prices are (after inflation), lower.

There have been numerous failures as well -- ethanol, MTB, minimum renewable energy sources, just to name some of the ones in the energy field alone.

They have done a lot of things right, some more than others, however, if you are saying that the government should not do it, you are wrong, as business would NEVER do it!

Business doesn't care about people. It cares about profit! It screws people for profit, often their own employes! It even screws them out of their pensions! And who gets stuck with the bill? We do!

Our way of doing business, "free enterprise", which is anything but, runs on supply and demand. It is suppose to be an equal partnership between employer and employees but never is, primarily because congress or the president have removed the recourses that many workers can use, and that is to strike. Unions have been run into the ground by themselves and government! Reagan promised Air Traffic controllers he would shorten their work week if they voted for him (I have a copy of the letter). Well he did, he fired all of them!

In addition, under our system, there will always be the unemployed, and that is a direct result of how business works: Supply and Demand! Business sure isn't going to take care of their own fall-out, even though they get a lot of money from corporate welfare and they make huge profits!

If not for the government, and I mean Democrats in the government, we would not have one law passed that favors employees or their rights.

Their are tons of domestic issues, but lets just name a small one!

Child labor which ran rampant. They were worked like slaves from morning until night, paid little, were seen as a group not likely to strike!

In 1836 the first state child labor law.
Massachusetts requires children under 15 working in factories to attend school at least 3 months/year

Wow, kids under 15 had to go to school 3 months a year! Ten year olds working 70 hours a week could finally go to school!

In 1938 the Federal regulation of child labor achieved in Fair Labor Standards Act was passed! For the first time, minimum ages of employment and hours of work for children are regulated by federal law. It also passed minimum wage .40 cents, and a 44 hour work week!

The reason the law passed to outlaw sweatshops full of children is that FDR was president and 334 in Congress were Democrats! There were only like 33 Republicans!

Business sure and hell didn't do it!

And as far as the past 30 years I really didn't research it that well, but my guess would be, Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan, Bush and Bush! which adds up to exactly 30 years!

Of course you would ask us to name an issue that a Republican fixed. The answer is: NONE!

Now name me one business EVER fixed without being forced to? That should be a real short list! Did you want to start with Walter Reed?

No Child Left Behind, a Bush project! That was a great one in premise. The only thing wrong is Bush forgot to fund it!

Great question and the answer is no I can't. Domestic issues are best left to the public in general. Government just makes things worse, when they get involved.

Regulating the phone companies, and the media as a whole. Oh and releasing the internet to the general public......it was originally government agencies only as way to communicate without the "enemy" being able to see or hear what was going on.
