This is a 2 party system, sad to say. Therefore no matter who screws up, the power will only change hands back to the other guys. Politicians are looking not at who votes for them currently, but who will vote for them if they pass this bill. No matter how bad one party messes up in this country, 40% of the people will still vote for that party. The devil could be on the ticket and 40% of the people will vote for that party. Its like the stats people spout off for the Iraq war, 70something% of Americans don't like the way the war is going, but that percentage isn't going to vote democrat only. Like with this immigration, most democrats are pushing it, but do you think the democratic voters are going to vote republican next election? Doubt it. Do you think Ted Kennedy will get re-elected? More than likely. We need to impose term limits on the senate and the house. We do not need career politicians anymore in this country.

We have elected officials in office who are blind, self-righteous, idiots, who apparently are unaware that this has caused enough of an uproar that many will end up being voted out of office. That's what happens when special interest groups mean more than their own constituents.

My own US representative has stated that 95% of the people who are writing, emailing, faxing, and calling, are apposed to this and yet our outrage is falling on many deaf ears.

They are simply doing the bidding of business. Scrap the lobby system that pours money into the pockets of politicians, and voters will start to matter again.

They're scared of the political wannabes, who stand up and argue for the illegal's rights. If they do too much then the liberals are all over them, if not enough the conservatives get nasty.

It is true. Now don't forget what your congressmen/women did and how they voted on this bill (it comes for a vote today). Do what millions who are NOT wetbacks and belong here are going to do - not vote them back in. What they are doing is putting their jobs on the line for the chimp and all his bullshit!
