have you been to see a medium???
i think a lot of the people answering here have not done so.
i have trouble remembering peoples names so why would you expect someone who has been through the trauma of death to be more precise?
as for the biblical response, there are many instances in the bible where the advice of 'mediums' is taken and not commented on adversely - you can always find contradictory statements in that book.
check a medium out - a good one - check among your friends and see if anyone has had a good experience with any and visit that one - if you're not happy with what you're told, a good medium will not charge you.

Because when we get messages from spirits they are like listening to someone speak when your head is under water, things can be garbled or unclear.....also mediumship depends upon the force of the energy the spirit carries with them and how much NEED they have to communicate.....

I have had reading where the person has come through like they are trying to speak to me from a long way away and some where it is like they are speaking directly in my ear.

Some mediums don't hear (clairaudience)...in fact I rarely do....mostly I get "impressions" (clairsentience) - smells, feelings, sometimes I "see" (clairvoyance) it depends upon many factors......ESP has so many different forms and levels it is very difficult to "label" what exactly someone with these skills "is"...............

Oh and by the way - I DONT charge for my readings EVER! I believe that a true medium uses their gifts to assist people to move through the grieving process NOT abuse them by extending it and taking money!

I have been given gifts (eg: usually food from someones garden, a hand knitted jumper, some crystals etc - by the persons FREE WILL!!!! and hey I have to eat and wear clothes, just like everyone else) by people I have done readings for but I never take them on the day of the reading and I never take monetary gifts! I have been asked after a reading what I charge and I have said often if you really feel the need to pay something then give what you think it was worth to a charity!

I know there are a LOT of charlatans out there who take people for a ride and get as much money out of them as they can...and it makes me MAD! I dont really care if anyone believe what I can do or not, I KNOW it makes a difference to the people who messages come through me for, all I am is the messenger.

This is just a scam, as Harry Houdini proved in the 1920's. James Randi continues this work of exposing fake mediums now. You must ask a swindler medium to get a definitive answer about this. I have a thory, but I like to be certain.

If the person is genuine it can be hard to establish a strong link to the spirit world. Sometimes only bits of information can come through, kind of like listening to a skipping cd lol. Whereas if the person is a fake they tend to go through the alphabet until they see a reaction...idiots
Hope I helped!

There was a former medium who came and spoke at my church. He said mediums talk to demons pretending to be spirits of dead relatives. They know things about us so we believe they are dead uncle harry.
They are liars and deceivers, these demons.
It is evil and wrong in the site of God.

"Let no one be found among
you who sacrifices his son or daughter in
the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens,
engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or
spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is
detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices
the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you."
(Deut. 18:10-12)
2 kings 23: 24 Furthermore, Josiah got rid of the mediums and spiritists, the household
gods, the idols and all the other detestable things seen in Judah and Jerusalem. This he
did to fulfill the requirements of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had
discovered in the temple of the LORD. "
Lev 19:31, "'Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them.
I am the LORD your God. 'I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and
spiritists to prostitute himself by following them, and I will cut him off from his people.

Isaiah 8:19, "When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and
mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the
living?
1 chronicles 10:13,"13 So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had committed against
the LORD, because he did not keep the word of the LORD, and also because he consulted a
medium for guidance."
